Meet the Brit Singer Who Took Over Fashion Week

These boots are made for… taking over New York City Fashion Week!

The bi-annual seven-day style strut kicked off with a bang on Feb. 12 when my favorite store in the entire U.S. of A, Seven New York in SoHo, celebrated 10 years of carrying the most fashion-forward threads (from Preen to Jeremy Scott to Three As Four to Raf Simons) with a blowout bash at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.

The shop (owned by my dear pals Joseph Quartana and Steve Sang) is a favorite of all of music's most costumed characters (Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Estelle and Bjork are loyalists) and the anniversary bash and private dinner beforehand brought out a roster of local fashion icons, including Agyness Deyn, The MisShapes, Grand MC Tommy Saleh, Golden Filter (who gave a stunning early-morning performance) and British pop sensation Little Boots.

The singer flew across the pond to attend and belt out piano-driven versions of hits including her single "Remedy" and "New In Town," which had the oft-jaded crowd singing along in unison.

Boots may have brought down the vibe a bit by complaining about technical difficulties instead of being a trooper and plowing through it (as we know Beyonce would have done!), but it did whet the crowds appetite for the nearing U.S. release of her debut disc, Hands, on March 2.

To pre-order it or check out more on the pint-sized pop cutie, visit her MySpace page.
