Miley Cyrus Defends Her VMAs Performance to Britney Spears in The Movement Trailer

To be a fly on that wall! Both former Disney starlets-turned-pop-provocateurs, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus have more than a few things in common — they recently collaborated on not-yet-leaked track “SMS (BANGERZ)” — and the pair are briefly seen shooting the breeze in a preview for MTV documentary Miley: The Movement.

Their topic of conversation? The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, of course! “Everyone takes the VMAs so serious,” Cyrus, 20, tells VMAs vet Spears, 31, in a recording studio. “I just wanna come out and shoot a hot dog gun,” the former Hannah Montana star says as Spears giggles. “I just wanna have fun!” (Spears recently defended Cyrus’ VMAs stunt.)

Premiering on MTV on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m., Miley: The Movement followed Cyrus during the four-month leadup to the release of new album Bangerz — including rehearsals, encounters with fans, and lots of one-on-one interviews.

“I was born to become who I am right now,” Cyrus says. “Right now I’m in a point in my career where I’m exactly what I wanna be, who I wanna be . . .I’m starting as a new artist now.”

Her (compelling!) take on stirring on controversy? “You’re always gonna make people talk. You might as well make them talk for like, two weeks, rather than two seconds.”
