Morgan Freeman Falls Asleep During Live Interview

Early wakeup call? Morgan Freeman was caught trying to catch some Zzzzs during a live TV interview with Seattle’s Q13 Fox News morning crew early on Wednesday, May 22 while promoting his new movie with costar Michael Caine, Now You See Me.

As the reporters talk to Caine, 80, about the film’s special effects, the 75-year-old Oscar winner sits next to him, his eyes closed. At one point, Freeman slumps forward — seemingly falling into a deep sleep — but then wakes up, startled. Blinking his eyes and trying to follow the conversation, Freeman manages to answer a question towards the end of the chat.

Fox reporters Bill Wixey and Kaci Aitchison had a sense of humor about Freeman’s on-air nap during the interview, joking lightly about it on Twitter.

“Morgan Freeman fell asleep on @KaciAitchison and I while interviewing him on @Q13FOX,” he wrote. “I have that effect on people. So sorry to interrupt Morgan Freeman’s sleep.”

Aitchison tweeted of the interview, “Morgan Freeman just fell asleep to the sound of our soothing voices.”
