Norman Reedus Says Daryl Dixon’s “Last in Line for Love” Again on The Walking Dead

Legions of Walking Dead fans may love Daryl Dixon, but love doesn’t seem to be in the cards for the fan favorite character played by Norman Reedus. The actor hinted in a new interview with Details magazine that viewers shouldn’t get their hopes of seeing the motorcycle-riding bad boy with someone on his buff arm.

“Even this season, I’m the last in line for love,” Reedus, 46, told the mag with a laugh. “I like not going through that door one way or another. I like that mystery.”

So for all of those hoping that the ruggedly handsome, crossbow-toting survivor and Melissa McBride’s tough-as-nails Carol finally become an item after seasons of amazing chemistry, keep on writing your fanfic and hoping that Daryl continues to survive against walkers and some seriously bad humans. After all, the hit AMC series is known for killing off major characters without hesitation.

“They’ll kill me whenever they want,” he noted. “I would hate to leave the show. I would play this role until I’m 80, I really would. And I could.”

The Walking Dead Season 6 premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
