Jail jumpsuits, brawls -- and job interviews? Orange is the New Black is making its return in June, and new photos have been released giving a first look into Season 2 of the Netflix smash hit. [Warning: Spoilers ahead!]
The comedy-drama previously left off with Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) beating her nemesis Tiffany (Taryn Manning) to a pulp during the show's Season 1 finale. A new photo now shows Piper's bloody hands in the aftermath from the horrific showdown.
As for good ole Red (Kate Mulgrew), her kitchen issues may take a backseat now that she's come face-to-face with new arrival Yvonne "Vee" Parker, played by Lorraine Toussaint. The women don't look friendly in the sneak peek.
Finally, what's new with the other women? Instead of just gossiping at the lunch table, it looks like some of the ladies will be practicing for job interviews when the show returns. In a third photo, "Taystee" (Danielle Brooks), Nicky (Natasha Lyonne), Lorna (Yael Stone) and others are seen changing out of their orange ensembles for a more sophisticated look.
Netflix released a video teaser for Season 2 of OITNB back in February. The show's creator, Jenji Kohan, also clarified that month that Laura Prepon's character Alex Vause would be coming back for "most" of the season. (It was rumored that Prepon's role would be diminished in the upcoming episodes.)
"Yes, yes, she is coming back," she told Us Weekly at the Writers Guild Awards on Feb. 1. "Not the whole season, but...you'll see her for most of it."
Orange is the New Black Season 2 premieres on Netflix Friday, June 6.
