Black is back!

Netflix’s smash original series Orange Is the New Black debuted its entire second season on Friday, June 6, leaving many devoted fans stuck inside all weekend, binge-watching the show’s new 13 episodes.
Those who toughed it out weren’t disappointed as Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) and her rag tag crew of fellow inmates returned for what proved to be an equally (if not more) compelling sophomore season.
The many women of the Litchfield Penitentiary were as vibrant, diverse, and complex as ever —- with the most notable addition being the thoroughly evil Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) as this year’s primary predator and Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren (Uzo Aduba) as her innocent prey.
Naturally, the season was chalk-full of gasp-worthy moments and shocking twists. Here, Us Weekly recaps the Top 5 most shocking moments:
5. Larry Cheats on Piper With Polly
It’s a classic tale of girl goes away and her fiancé cheats with her best friend, but it seemed surprisingly unexpected when the doting Larry (Jason Biggs) hopped into bed with Piper’s married best friend Polly (Maria Dizzia). Sure, Polly was vulnerable, stuck with a newborn and an absentee husband, but how could she do that to Pipes?!
4. Alex Betrays Piper Big Time
Ok, ok, so Alex (Laura Prepon) has definitely screwed over Piper in the past, but when she forced her to perjure herself only to back out at the last minute, it was a new low. The glasses-wearing drug smuggler got busted out of jail, leaving Piper, once again, up a creek without a paddle.
3. Red’s Revenge Gone Wrong
As she tried to defend herself and her business from the vicious Vee, Red (Kate Mulgrew) snapped and took a piece of plastic wrap to the villain’s neck. When her morals won out and she let Vee go, the treacherous drug dealer beat the Russian cook within an inch of her life. But who will smuggle in the panty hose?!
2. Lorna’s Story
For the whole first season, Lorna (Yael Stone) was a pretty girl, who was planning her wedding to her unseen fiancé Christopher. In season 2, we learned that her life with Christopher was a figment of her demented imagination. In reality she’d gone on one date with the man before seriously stalking him and putting his real fiancee’s life at risk, causing her to go behind bars.
1. Miss Rosa’s Ride
In the season finale, the ailing Miss Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat), who had fallen from bank-robbing badass to terminal cancer patient, was given only a few weeks to live. After Vee broke out of jail, the prison guards were scrambling to locate her and in the commotion, Miss Rosa stole a van and hit the road to spend her last weeks as a free woman. As she rolled down the window and felt the sun on her face, Rosa spotted Vee, who had been cruel to her several times. Revving the gas, she slammed into season 2’s baddie, presumably killing her before driving off.
