In honor of Gay Pride Month, Us Weekly salutes stars like Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres and Chris Colfer for their work in the LGBT community.

Other notable stars who made headlines when they publicly came out of the closet include American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, financial guru Suze Orman and *NYSNC singer Lance Bass.

"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Lambert, 29, told Rolling Stone in 2009. "I'm proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It's just another part of me."

Orman cracked a few jokes in her 2008 New York Times Magazine coming out story, telling the interviewer, "I have never been with a man in my whole life. I'm still a 55-year-old virgin!"

As for Bass, 32? "I always think it's so crazy that you have to confirm that your straight or gay," he has said.
