Kids say the darndest things! Kourtney Kardashian revealed on the Sunday, May 22, episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that her 3-year-old daughter, Penelope, has started calling Caitlyn Jenner “grandma.”
“We were reading a bible book, and the angel in the book was this person with long hair and a white long dress,” Kourtney, 37, told her younger sibling Kim on the E! series. “Penelope was like, ‘That looks like my grandma.’”
“I was like, ‘Which Grandma? Bonnie?’ She was like, ‘No.’ I was like, ‘Lovie? GG?’ And she was like, ‘No,’” the eldest Kardashian sister continued. “She goes, ‘My grandma that came with us to see Zootopia. Caitlyn.’”
“So I was like thinking, ‘I didn’t even think Caitlyn was a grandma,’” she added of her stepfather. “You know?”
Kourt seemed to be totally fine with little Penelope giving Jenner, 66, the “grandma” title, even though the Kardashian-Jenner clan still refers to the Olympian as “dad,” with her blessing. While the tot is clearly on board with Jenner’s transition, her aunt Khloé Kardashian said during an April episode of Kocktails With Khloé that P’s big brother, Mason, had a difficult time adjusting.
“Mason was uncomfortable but [would] kind of, like, be distant to Caitlyn, but Caitlyn … understood and handled it perfectly,” Khloé explained, adding that the 6-year-old was “confused” when Bruce became Caitlyn.
“But the little ones, like North and P., they don’t know the difference, which is the innocence of children,” Khloé noted at the time. “They know her as just Caitlyn.”
