This true story -- nominated for six Oscars, including best actor -- follows Aron Ralston (James Franco) as he heads to the Utah wilderness, then gets trapped when a boulder falls on his arm. Over six days, he creates a video diary using a camcorder in his bag, flashes back to happier times -- and finally hacks off his limb! Though the film is bloody (be warned), Franco captivates as the arrogant but likable Ralston. And director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) enlivens the drama with an energetic soundtrack.
