A drama that examines psychoanalysis in Zurich circa 1904 has no business being this riveting. Michael Fassbender goes deep as Carl Jung, the straight-laced therapist who develops feelings for his sexually masochistic patient (Keira Knightley). The British actress is sometimes shaky playing a brilliant-but- unstable Russian; good thing she and Fassbender share a palpable heat in and out of the bedroom.
