Us Rating: **

For 30 years, a reserved hotel servant (Glenn Close) has masqueraded as a man for work in 19th-century Ireland. But the secret begins to fall apart after she decides to court a fellow hired hand (Mia Wasikowska). This slow-moving drama primarily serves as a showcase for Close's nuanced performance. Still, as a cowriter, the actress should have given Albert more heart and soul. She plays her emotions so close to the corset, it’s difficult to sympathize with her plight.
