It has taken the Strokes a full decade to conjure up a record that comes close to their 2001 breakthrough, This Is It. And finally, their fourth disc nails it. Powered by the jutting guitars of their debut (notably on "Taken for a Fool") paired with dexterous, '80s-style synth affectations ("Two Kinds of Happiness"), the effort marks the NYC quintet's second coming.
