Matt Damon is at his most affable in this touching -- if super-sappy -- family pic. After his wife dies, he and his two kids uproot to a house in a dilapidated animal park. While the widower fights to keep it open, he falls for the head zookeeper (Scarlett Johansson, nicely deglammed). Majestic animal scenes aside, the film (cowritten and directed by Cameron Crowe) is hindered by an overload of cliches and precious lines like "You gotta let the sunlight in!"
