Drake made Rihanna feel like she was the only girl in the world. The "Work" singer thanked the rapper and her fans for their support in a sweet Instagram post Friday, August 2, just days after she received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

"#VMA2016 night was one that I would never forget!! I have the most incredible people in my life! My family, friends, loved ones, my fans, my team!!! All gifted beautiful spirits!" RiRi, 28, captioned a video from the VMAs. "And I'm so grateful that God has precisely and flawlessly arranged our paths to meet at each other! It's because of you that I was able to reach this moment in my career! And it's also because of you that I was able to pull off a night like this one, with 4 medley performances, 4 set productions, 4 outfits, 4 hair and makeup looks, and all in 4 days of rehearsal!"

"It was a challenge but I wanted nothing more than to give my fans a true representation of all the colors that I'm made of as an artist!" she continued. "My journey has been filled with growth and people who continue to inspire me! Forever grateful to everyone involved creatively, from choreography all the way to wardrobe and production!"

Drake, 29, presented Rihanna with the coveted Vanguard award at the star-studded show, which took place at NYC's Madison Square Garden. During his speech, he confessed that he's been in love with her since he was 22 years old.

In return, Rihanna gave the "Hotline Bling" rapper a special shout-out in her Instagram post. "@champagnepapi your speech was so touching and I love you for that!" she wrote on Friday. "All in all....Best night ever!!! I'm a lucky girl!!! To God be the Glory!"

Rihanna and Drake have been keeping coy about their relationship status as of late. The off-and-on duo held hands at a VMAs afterparty and kissed on stage during Drake's Summer Sixteen tour in Miami Wednesday. On Thursday, it was revealed that Rihanna got a shark tattoo on her ankle inspired by a stuffed animal that Drake once gave her.
