Some kind of father figure! Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is in grave danger in Thursday, April 16's episode of Scandal, "I'm Just a Bill" — and it's her own dad who's threatening her life.
Us Weekly has an exclusive sneak peek at the episode, which will see our favorite professional problem-solver choosing between her presidential lover, Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and her ultra-powerful spy father, Rowan (Joe Morton). Above, watch how Papa Pope manages to be the most terrifying villain on the show while maintaining the guise of a normal father-daughter conversation.
For the past few weeks, David Rosen (Joshua Malina) and some helpers from Olivia Pope & Associates have been putting together a case against B613, the covert organization responsible for torturing and killing many of Oliva's loved ones (and for employing another couple of them).
"You see, apparently there's a group of people who have decided that I'm a criminal," Rowan menacingly says to his daughter. "They're building a case. Some preposterous claim about a secret spy organization called B613 that I'm supposedly the head of. I mean, have you ever heard anything so ridiculous?"
Yes, cold-blooded killer, sir. So ridiculous! Rowan instructs Olivia (in so many words) that he's giving her a chance to shut it down herself, or something will happen to one of the men she loves. "Tell me, who do you think stands to lose the most when this so-called B613 is made public? … Is your hatred for me so great that you are willing to tear him down too?"
Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
