Should Pole Dancing Miss USA Be Stripped of Her Crown?

Just one day after Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA, photos of her pole dancing in short shorts were released on the Web.

Fakih, 24, won a 2007 "Stripper 101" contest thrown by the Detroit-based "Mojo in the Morning" radio show.

It's just the latest controversy to surround the pageant, which was also criticized for publishing sexy photos of contestants in lingerie . (Miss Universe owner Donald Trump called them "very artsy.")

In 2009, Miss USA finalist Carrie Prejean was stripped of her Miss California title after topless photos of her surfaced.

People, shut up. She's a grown up, she can do whatever she wants with her body and the only person she has to answer to besides herself is Allah (SWT).

anonymous i think you need to just shut your trap, not all muslims are like that. i've been dating a muslim girl and she and her family are not "crazy' like you put it. they are also accepting of other's religions. just because a few are like that doesn't mean they all are

IF she's stripped of her stupid crown than so shall everyone else who has won it because they all have done something!

I love it - a Muslim pole dancer. Poor girl, the crazy Muslim religion will soon be after her like they are the South Park people.

Donald needs to find another owner for this piece of junk pageant he owns. It sucks and is a disgrace and not helpful to anyone. I see nothing in it but sleazy women trying to get a dime.

She is a disgarce to Muslims.

what in the world difference does it make? After the Miss America pageant I never hear about them again so I couldnt care less what she did or does

  • May 19, 2010 - 7:54am Shell

who cares about the pole dancing..whatever. If she was not a natural born American then she shouldn't have the title Miss America. Sorry.

The Donald needs a less public hobby. He is starting to look like pervert and that needs to stay private. He has to far to fall and grace is not a strong point for him. The morals of America are so in the blender it is funny to watch how people can judge from the not very happy places many of them attempt to live.

Hala mansour go back to your country or go to hell

  • May 18, 2010 - 11:58pm Abby

Excellent post Jay and I couldn't agree more! There are still some people with morals. Yes! Unfortunately this girl is not one of them and I'm sure it will only lead to self destruction.

  • May 18, 2010 - 11:55pm anon

I bet in her own country they'd have her head for this. Pathetic little slore

  • May 18, 2010 - 11:40pm Hala Mansour

Miss USA isnt casting for Nuns or looking for individuals who cant, for and on their own, understand the qualifying requirements. How an individual chooses to live their life and how that life is plastered on the media screens are two different parallels if that holds any value..there is no big deal, before or after the crown....when it comes to drugs, and sexual misbehavior and already displayed by the core of the USA born bred and fed winners that have already shown us their junk for FREE, then we should be concerned...all else is bitterness, angst, and whatever the reader is feeling at the moment or holding on to - their choice as well.

Where's is the respect and decency of women? Why do women have to trash themselves? When one is crowed Miss USA, she is representing the nation. And by doing pole dancing in public is trashing the image of a lady. Besides, she wasn't even born in USA. The rules should be that all contestants should be born in the USA, just like if one wants to become president of the United States of America!

  • May 18, 2010 - 11:18pm Jay

I am SO tired of TRASH behavior being accepted these days. Does anyone have any values and morals anymore? Are there any females out there in their teens, 20's, 30's that DON'T want to sl*t themselves out and be perceived as trash? I have NO idea why girls today don't respect themselves and want to come across as sl*ts. It's NOT attractive at all to disrespect oneself. When did trash behavior become okay? Why do girls want to be perceived as trash? I just don't get it. Hope they take this USA's crown AWAY. She deserves to be impeached. She has shown she has no self respect or class or values or morals. I bet more comes out on her soon. She was probably an escort or something too.

They need to get rid of these pageants. They are very outdated and useless.

  • May 18, 2010 - 10:12pm Craig

Actually not everyone has a past and does trashy bad things. I see an exercise class and dancing on a stage like this two totally different things but this country is turning out so many whor.es no wonder people think it's normal but it's NOT
