More than a year after exiting Fox's American Idol, Paula Abdul made her long-awaited TV comeback on CBS' Live to Dance Tuesday.

Acting as a judge on the dance reality competition series, Abdul, 48, joined choreographer Travis Payne and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt to critique a group largely comprised of grannies and kiddie hip-hop dancers.

Viewers tuning in for Abdul's signature kooky critiques were out of luck on Live to Dance, as the judge's garden variety "dream big" banter lacked a much-needed bite.

Aside from telling a pint-size hip-hop dancer she wanted to "pinch his cheeks" and advising another young female hopeful to ditch the Tammy Faye makeup, Abdul was on her best behavior.
