George R.R. Martin better fill up those “Blank Spaces” soon! Not only is Taylor Swift the reigning Princess of Pop, but now she’s conquered the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros too.
In a new parody video from Nerdist Presents, Game of Thrones/Songs of Ice and Fire author Martin (played by Nick Mundy) and Queen of the Dragons Daenerys Targaryen (Emily Rudd) act out their version of the “Blank Space” video in an original song set to the tune of Swift’s vengeance-is-mine anthem.
“Dragons, dwarves, castles, kings. I could pen you incredible scenes!” Mundy as Martin begins, before moving into the chorus of, “You could die in a sword fight, or burn in dragon’s flames. Just when they think it’s alright, I cross off another name. So much death in the Seven Kingdoms, you could say I’m insane. ‘Cause you know I love king slayers and you love Game of Thrones!”
“Blank Space” was Swift’s second single of her 2014 album 1989. It topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, beating her other single “Shake It Off” and setting a new music industry record. Season 5 of HBO’s Game of Thrones will premiere on April 12, 2015.
