The Wanted Taking Time Off to "Pursue Personal Endeavors"
Fans of The Wanted will be glad they came to one of the group's 2014 tour dates. On Jan. 22, the boy band's official website posted an announcement revealing Tom Parker, Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran, and Nathan Sykes were going to be taking a break following the tour's conclusion in late April.
"This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour's conclusion," the group said in a statement. "The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour."
The group's last tour date will be April 25 in Vancouver. The English-Irish boy band also revealed they are releasing the new single and accompanying video for "Glow In The Dark," a tune off their November 2013 album Word of Mouth.
The Wanted formed in 2009 under the watchful eye of Justin Bieber's famed manager Scooter Braun. The five lads from across the pond have released three albums -- The Wanted in 2010, Battleground in 2011, and Word of Mouth in 2013. Their hit single "Glad You Came" hit no. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and made it to no. 1 on the United Kingdom's singles chart.
The group even had their own limited E! reality series titled The Wanted Life, which premiered in June 2013 for eight episodes.
Group members Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes took to Twitter on Jan. 22 to thank and comfort fans.
"I love you guys," Ariana Grande's ex, Sykes, tweeted. And Kaneswaran reiterated the sentiment, tweeting, "We love you guys."
