Fresh off another best comedy Emmy, it’s only natural to expect a grade-A premiere. Get ready for a slight disappointment. TV writer Liz (Tina Fey) and the gang return for another round of TGS, but NBC honcho Jack (Alec Baldwin) spoils the fun with pay cuts and orders to add a new star to the fizzling sketch show. Though fans will chuckle at the sight gags (Jane Krakowski’s Jenna appears in a silly TV sports promo) and loony Liz moments (behold her ode to fattening food!), Rock's sharpness is MIA. Blame the overload of jabs at politics and corporate greed, which leaves little room for big laughs. That material is better left to The Daily Show, guys! (NBC, 9:30 P.M.)
