In this colorful family film that earned $198 million, Susan (voice of Reese Witherspoon) gets hit by a meteor on her wedding day, turns into 49-foot Ginormica and joins several monsters (voices of Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie and Will Arnett) to save the world from an alien (Rainn Wilson). Though the story’s a bit dopey — it lacks the adult humor of the Shrek series, despite cool casting such as Stephen Colbert voicing the president — kids will marvel at the excellent animation.
