The able cast — namely, Kate Walsh (as baby doc Addison), Tim Daly and Amy Brenneman — deserve better than this middling Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, which features overheated medical cases (a measles quarantine!), silly dialogue, dull office melodrama and romances that are woefully adolescent. 17private practice is a wonderful show i put my 5 kids to bed then i watch both shows never missed one keep up the good work
I watch for Kate Walsh. She is awesome.
I started watching PP for Kate Walsh, but now the other characters are starting to grow on me. Can't wait for Oct 1st!
The Violet and Pete are so boring that ABC had the sneak peak described as "Morgan is rushed to the hospital unconscious, as Addison and Noah argue over blood types." They fixed it now. It is telling. Not even the promo people at ABC know who Violet and Pete are, but can remember the name of the characters in Addison's arc. Violet and Pete are so boring that the final episode, supposed to be one of the highest rated of the season when people are interested about the characters, doesn't even make the top 5 of the highest rated episodes. By then people were tired of the bait and switch. Promos about Addison, and then they got stuck watching the boring Violet and Botox Tim Daly tring to move his face, but only achieving to look constipated.
Kate Walsh is keeping this show on air with her star power and Addison's popularity alone. The rest of the characters are very dull and uninteresting. Good actors, but boring characters.
Tim Daly, Amy Brennemann, Audra McDonald. So much talent wasted on this show. Those great actors deserve better writing.

I can't believe how bad this show is considering all of the good actors in it. Plus I think Kate Walsh is better as a side character, not the main one.
Love Private Practice and ADORE Kate Walsh. Can't wait for the season premiere on Oct 1st.
I don't like Private Practice that much, but I would watch Tim Daly in just anything. What a pity that writers of this show waste all those talented actors. But season 3 premiere is supposedly great. And it's focused on Pete (Tim Daly). That makes me excited actually.
I love Private Practice as I adore Kate Walsh. She is an amazing actress. But yep, the writing is shit at times.
