Mariah Carey Shoots Down Vanessa Hudgens Movie Rumors

Mariah Carey is setting the record straight: She's not starring in a flick alongside Vanessa Hudgens.
In fact, the singer, 40, tells UsMagazine.com that she didn't even know about the Internet rumors that she and Hudgens, 21, would appear in a comedy about a mother-daughter duo that audition for a TV talent show.

"I haven't heard that," Carey told Us at the Palm Springs Film Festival Wednesday.

Still, Carey -- who later gave a silly acceptance speech after winning the Breakthrough Actress award for Precious -- says she is plotting her film follow-up by reading scripts.

"I'm doing a lot at the same time. I'm on tour right now and stuff," Carey says. "There has been a lot of stuff that I'm really excited about!"
