It's been a heck of a year for Sandra Bullock since 2010's Oscars.
Less than two weeks after she won her first Academy Award (for Best Actress in Blind Side), her nearly six-year marriage shockingly imploded, after husband Jesse James' multiple affairs with other women became headlines.
Bullock, 46, then emerged later that spring to reveal another bombshell: She'd secretly adopted a baby boy, Louis Bardo, in January!
Wearing a red-hot Vera Wang gown at Sunday's bash, Bullock gushed about motherhood to NBC's Maria Menounos on the red carpet pre-show.
"I just did my first day of work in over a year and a half on Friday," Bullock said (shooting a new flick Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close with Tom Hanks in NYC).
"It's made me a better person. I'm more patient and accommodating. I really appreciate where I am."
Her memories of her 2010 Oscar win — with James at her side — are a blur. "I only had two hours of sleep," Bullock told E! News' Ryan Seacrest. "I remember none of it."
The star urged this year's nominees to "relax" and "remember" the big Oscar moment.
