Michael Lohan officially has a new legal battle — and potential jail time — on his hands.
On Wednesday, the L.A. District Attorney's office confirmed that it has filed a single misdemeanor charge of "inflicting injury on a Cohabitant" against Lindsay Lohan's father, 50, RadarOnline reports. The alleged victim in the domestic violence incident: Kate Major, Lohan's ex-fiancee. (And a one-time love of Jon Gosselin.)
Lohan's bail was set at $30,000, although he reportedly has already been released without posting it.
As previously reported, Lohan was arrested late Monday in West Hollywood on three felony charges of domestic violence; Major was not initially identified as the victim in the incident. The D.A.'s office subsequently dropped two of those charges, and downgraded the third felony to a misdemeanor.
He faces one year in county jail if convicted.
He denied any wrongdoing to Radar. "I didn't touch [Kate]," he insisted. "I didn't do a damn thing to her. I'm going to press charges against Kate, and I'm going to try to have her arrested before she leaves California."
Countered Major to Radar: "I was pushed. I was shoved."
