Talk about a match made in heaven! Lourdes Leon, the model-musician daughter of, yes, Madonna, is the star of the new Converse x MadeMe campaign. The by-girls, for-girls streetwear line headed by creative director Erin Magee has partnered with the iconic sneaker brand to reimagine the cult-favorite ‘90s One Star style and design a few new apparel pieces (think: cropped halter tops, oversized track jackets and mini backpacks), and Lourdes shows Us how to rock all of it in the psychedelic shots by photographer Mayan Toledano.
Lourdes, who has worked with MadeMe before as the face of the brand’s collab X-Girl last year, unapologetically shows off her armpit hair (as she often does) and downtown style in the pics. Magee explained that the collection, which includes four platform kicks in colorful corduroy and plush suede, in addition to six clothing pieces, is inspired by “a cool girl … who will take risks and not worry about what everyone else is wearing or doing.”
An homage to “authenticity” and “street, rave, queer and 90s subculture,” the line is priced between $30 and $110 and available now via the Converse website and Dover Street Market. Keep scrolling to see Lourdes modeling the collection!
