Halloween is getting a glow up this year with some help from Reese’s, Kit Kat and Hershey’s! Hershey, the candy maker that sells each of those sweet treats, is stepping up its game this fall by releasing mini versions of each candy encased in a glow-in-the-dark wrapper, perfect for warding off ghouls, goblins and more.

The glowing candies, which will soon be hitting shelves nationwide for a limited time, will radiate a spooky glow when placed under a black light bulb, and will make your candy dish positively luminescent.

If you’re wondering why no one had thought of this ingenious revelation before, it turns out that, according to an article published by Adweek in 2017, the idea for the glow-in-the-dark wrappers actually emerged in 2016. Then, the following year, the candies were tested out on a relatively small scale via the Hershey’s Glow in the Dark Assortment Bag, which contained 230 individually-wrapped Kit Kat Miniatures, Reese’s Miniature Cups, and mini Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars, and was available exclusively at Walmart.

“We’re not screaming from the rooftops, but we’ll put it out there and watch the data,” said Rob Gehring, then Chief Sales Officer for Hershey’s, to Adweek at the time.

This year, the glowing mini Hershey bars, Kit Kats and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups will be available from a whole host of retailers nationwide for $2.99 per bag.

And that’s not all! As per usual, Hershey’s is also releasing an assortment of different candies that play off the spookiness of All Hallows’ Eve. 2018’s creepy offerings include Reese’s Peanut Butter Spooky Eyeballs, Twizzlers Pull‘n’Peel Candy in Orange and Black Cherry and Hershey’s Candy Corn bars.

Lastly, Reese’s, Kit Kat and Hershey’s Kisses will all also be available in limited-edition, Halloween-themed foils perfect for any celebration this season.
