Heejun Han is history.
The American Idol hopeful got a standing ovation for his performance on Wednesday night, but it didn't move viewers to call with votes of support — and judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler showed him the door on Thursday's elimination episode.
The 22-year-old Flushing, NY was joined in the bottom three by Hollie Cavanaugh and country crooner Sklyar Laine. Although he performed a rousing rendition of Donnie Hathaway's "A Song for You," the judges ultimately decided to cut him loose.
"You knew this was coming yourself," Tyler told him apologetically.
"I had fun and I had an amazing time," Han told reporters after his ouster. His post-Idol plans? "I'm going to go eat a lot of food," he joked. "I am starving. You know, this is the biggest opportunity that I will ever have in my life. I'm definitely going to make something out of it by doing anything that's put in front of me. Acting, comedy, sitcoms, singing, dancing. Just not adult films!"
Idol's top eight, then, is Cavanaugh, Laine, Phillip Phillips, Elise Testone, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez and Deandre Brackensick.
