Sophie Sumner is the queen of Tyra Banks‘ catwalk!
After months of competition on The CW’s America’s Next Top Model, U.K. contestant Sumner beat American stunner Laura LaFrate to earn the British Invasion season title Wednesday.
The 21-year-old from Oxford, England, who first rose to fame when she was declared the runner-up on Britain’s Next Top Model, nabbed a CoverGirl cosmetics and modeling contract and the chance to appear in the pages of Italian Vogue.
“I feel like I’m in a dream! The messages of love and support are overwhelming, thank you all so so much,” Sumner — whom host Banks declared to be “genius” — tweeted after the finale aired Wednesday.
On Wednesday’s finale, runner-up LaFrate melted down under pressure and was rushed to the hospital just before walking in a Forever 21 runway show and facing judges Banks, J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker.
Wednesday’s finale was the last time Alexander, Manuel and Barker would appear on ANTM. In April, Banks revealed that she was giving the trio of ANTM veterans the ax in favor of Kelly Cutrone, Rob Evans and Katy Perry‘s stylist Johnny Wujek.
