Jacintha Saldanha's loved ones have said their final goodbyes.
Kate Middleton's hospital nurse — who committed suicide Dec. 7 following her unwitting involved in a cruel prank call from two Australian DJs — was buried in her native Shirva, India on Monday Dec. 17, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Prior to her private burial, the 46-year-old was remembered by nearly 2,000 at a service held at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church.
Saldanha is survived by husband Ben Barboza and two kids: son Junal, 17, and Lisha, 14,
The Sydney-based DJs responsible for the prank — Saldanha mistook them for British royals and handed the phone over to a colleague — have publicly apologized for their prank call, calling themselves "shattered, gutted, heartbroken" over Saldanha's suicide.
Barboza remembered his late wife at a mass held Saturday at Westminster Cathedral in London. "I feel a part of me has been ripped out," sad Barboza; his wife was discovered hanging in a residence near King Edward VII hospital, where the Duchess, 30, had been treated for acute morning sickness.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha," the royals said in a statement. "Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time."
