Nothing Commissioner Gordon can't handle! Benjamin McKenzie made a trip to the hospital (and on his 36th birthday!) after he suffered an injury while taping his TV series Gotham in NYC on Friday, Sept. 12.
"Happy Birthday to me. Fight sequence gone awry. Don't ram your head into concrete pillars kids. #gotham," the actor captioned an Instagram picture of himself with a bandage on his forehead. "Holy concrete wall, Batman! #gotham," he added.
McKenzie took a snapshot of his bloody, fresh wound and got stitches at the hospital. "Doc Sherman at New York-Presbyterian, you are a career saver," he joked. "Thanks for stitching me up nice. Back to work Monday. #gotham."
McKenzie plays Commissioner James Gordon in the highly-anticipated upcoming series. Earlier this week, he was photographed wearing a fitted white tank top on set, similar to the one his character Ryan Atwood often wore on the teen drama The O.C. from 2003 to 2007.
Gotham premieres on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
