Welcome back to Twin Peaks! Fans of the beloved early '90s TV show were greeted with great news on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Twin Peaks will return with new episodes on Showtime in 2016, co-creator Mark Frost confirmed via Twitter, alongside a video link featuring a welcome sign to the spooky Pacific Northwestern town. The minute-long clip simply features the words "25 Years Later," "2016," and the Showtime logo as hints for what to expect and when.

The original series aired for two seasons from 1991 to 1992, and starred Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, plus stars like Lara Flynn Boyle and Sherilyn Fenn. According to Deadline, MacLachlan is rumored to reprise his role. In July, the cast of Twin Peaks reunited at the Vista Theatre in L.A. to celebrate the release of the show's Blu-ray/DVD collection.

The original premise of the series was centered on the murder of the small town's homecoming queen Laura Palmer. Agent Cooper entered the town at 11:30 a.m. (the exact time stamp of Frost's tweet) to investigate Palmer's shocking death. Agent Cooper, who frequently used the phrase "damn good coffee" as seen in Frost's tweet, gradually unearthed local residents' secrets as he got closer to solving the murder.
Deadline also reported that the limited nine-episode series will be helmed by original creators Frost and David Lynch. It is expected to premiere in 2016, in time for the show's 25th anniversary.
