Hairy situation? Hardly!
Over the past month, Halle Berry has been spotted out and about with long, lush locks one day, a chin-length bob the next, even bangs—anything but her signature pixie! And at the launch of her Scandale Paris lingerie line on Thursday, Oct. 23, in NYC, she finally explained why she can’t stop, won’t stop.
“I’m starting a new movie tomorrow, so all this hair is to figure out a new character,” Berry, 48, told Us Weekly while snacking on Laduree macarons and sipping mimosas. “I started long, then I cut it, then I played with it for a few days. I keep cutting it to see what’s going to work for this character. But at the same time, I have these public events to do! So I have to try to work [the hairstyles] into those moments. But it’s really all because I’m starting this movie.”
Interesting! The A-list actress was last seen on the small screen, in this past summer’s sci-fi series, Extant, but with her role as a mother searching for her son in the upcoming thriller, Kidnap, we’ll see her—and whichever hairstyle she decides on—in cinemas again soon.
In the meantime, Berry’s busy promoting Scandale, an old lingerie brand from the 1930s that she discovered in the French capital five years ago, and she’s determined to revive it. To do that, she’s releasing her first capsule collection for the brand at Target stores and Target.com on Monday, Oct. 27, a 10-piece set that will include push-up bras, demi bras, and panties, ranging in price from $7 to $18.
Though the X-Men actress donned the line’s metallic black Illusion demi bra under a semi-sheer top and a Rebecca Vallance skirt at the event, she says that she doesn’t have one favorite piece from the collection, and that’s because she hand-chose each one.
“Every single piece [is my favorite]. That’s why they’re in the capsule,” the mom to Nahla, 6, and Maceo, 12 months, explained. “We had 30 more designs, but every single one of these were chosen because these are my favorites. They’re ones that I think America will respond to. So I couldn’t just pick one!”
