Paul Walker's family is seeking $1.8 million from Roger Rodas' estate, Us Weekly can confirm. Rodas was driving at the time when the two men crashed and died in Southern California back in November 2013.
Walker's father, Paul Walker III, filed the notion on Nov. 24, just one week before the anniversary of his son's tragic death. A hearing about his request was scheduled in L.A. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
The Fast & Furious star died at the age of 40 when Rodas slammed into a tree following a charity event attended by both in Santa Clarita, Calif. Last month, Walker III reflected on the tragedy.
"It's a sad time. We're a very close, loving family and Paul is a piece that's missing now, that we're always going to miss," he said to Entertainment Tonight days before Thanksgiving. "I'm missing him more now…it's not getting any better for me."
Walker was survived by daughter Meadow, 16. Rodas, a race car driver and financial adviser, was survived by a wife and two children.
