Not exactly Sleeping Beauty. Kaley Cuoco's husband Ryan Sweeting filmed the actress in bed recently — but not for the reasons you might think. According to the Big Bang Theory actress, he secretly recorded her snoring to prove a point after she underwent a procedure to fix a deviated septum.
"I had sinus surgery the day after Christmas, and it has been the worst surgery of my life. Very painful," the CBS star, 29, told Ellen DeGeneres on Jan. 12. "And on top of it, everyone of course thought I got a nose job. Which is so funny, because if you know me, I would have told you I got a nose job. I'm not gonna keep it a secret."
Cuoco confessed to DeGeneres that she used to be "really addicted to nose spray like Afrin" — to the point where she was "snorting it" under the table at major Hollywood events. "At awards shows, I would have to pick out the right clutch to be able to fit my Afrin in it," she joked. "I couldn't get enough, and it was such a problem. And I ruined my sinus, so I had to get it fixed."
Unfortunately, the solution was — temporarily, at least — just as bad as the problem itself. "It's the worst. You should totally get it done, but it's the worst," the actress said of the procedure, noting that it was especially hard on her hubby.
"He's been taking care of me. He's been amazing," she gushed. "But the week of the surgery, I had a lot of medication, so I don't remember a lot of stuff. And I told him I was convinced that I couldn't sleep. I would wake up every morning complaining, 'Babe, I'm so tired, I didn't sleep…I can't sleep, I'm definitely not sleeping.'"
Sweeting assured her that she was, in fact, sleeping — and to prove it, he recorded her snoring four nights in a row.
"He sent me four videos. He was like, 'This has been my week,'" Cuoco recalled after sharing one of the tapes with DeGeneres. "So not only did I not thank him, but I'm snoring, my ex thanked him…I've been the worst wife," she joked.
The "not thanking him" bit is, of course, a reference to her little memory lapse at the 2015 People's Choice Awards. As viewers saw on Jan. 8, Cuoco neglected to acknowledge Sweeting during her acceptance speech for Favorite Comedic TV Actress — a slip-up that had to be corrected later by her ex-boyfriend and costar Johnny Galecki.
"I forgot to thank my husband…I completely blanked, but don't worry — I had my ex-boyfriend thank him at the end of the night," she told DeGeneres. "So it worked out great. Johnny really swooped in for me there."
The Wedding Ringer actress dated Galecki, 39, back in 2007, and is still close with him. Calling the Roseanne alum a "great ex-boyfriend" and a "good friend," she recalled his favor to her at the PCAs, telling DeGeneres, "Johnny said to Ryan, 'Your wife didn't thank you but I will. You have my heart.'"
