There’s no maybe about it — Gigi Hadid was definitely born with it!
On Wednesday, Jan. 14, the California girl and blossoming model was announced to be the newest spokesperson of Maybelline New York. The 19-year-old joins an elite group of beauties like Christy Turlington, Adriana Lima, and Jourdan Dunn, who’ve represented the revered cosmetic brand.
“Being a Maybelline New York spokesperson means more to me than anyone can imagine; it doesn’t seem real! It’s the most incredible feeling and is a dream come true,” the daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster said in a release. “I feel so honored and humbled to be a part of the iconic brand I grew up with, and I am very excited by this opportunity.”
Although she’s now an in-demand IMG model based in New York City, Hadid recalled the times she had to sneak to use makeup. “In middle school, I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup,” she told Vogue. “I secretly bought Maybelline’s Super Stay 24HR Concealer at CVS. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.”
The brand is obviously proud of their choice in a new spokesperson, who already graced the runways of Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Chanel, as well as several magazine covers.
“We are thrilled to welcome Gigi Hadid to Maybelline New York,” Jerome Bruhat, Global Brand President said.
“As the fashion industry’s newest “it” girl, Hadid is known for her confident, fun, seductive spirit. She reflects our brand values and represents Maybelline New York women all over the world who are smart, sexy, optimistic and full of life.”
