Not such a good day. Cara Delevingne had a disastrous interview on Tuesday, July 28, with Good Day Sacramento. While discussing her role in Paper Towns, the model-turned-actress sarcastically answered a majority of the news anchors’ somewhat patronizing questions, before annoying them to the point of being told to “take a nap.”
Delevingne, who participated via satellite, seemed irritated from the beginning of the interview. After being asked if she read John Green’s novel prior to filming, Delevingne quipped: “Uh, no. I never read the book or the script. I kind of winged it. No, of course, [I did.] John Green is an incredible author, so really if you haven’t read his books, you should.”
Things only went downhill from there.
“You seemed a lot more excited about [the movie] than you do right now? Are you just exhausted?” one newscaster continued, referring to a past interview of Delevingne’s. “No, I mean, I’m still very excited. The premiere was last night and it felt like the end of an era, but I’m not any less excited than I was a couple of weeks ago,” the Burberry model explained, while trying to grasp the question thrown at her. “Maybe I had a bit more energy,” she added. “It’s the morning.”
“You seem a bit irritated, perhaps it’s just us?” another anchor continued to press. “No,” Delevingne, now annoyed, replied. “I think it’s just you.”
The newscaster then cut the interview short, telling the 22-year-old: “We’ll let you go then, how about that? We’ll let you go and take a nap and maybe have a Red Bull.”
