If this doesn’t get your body groovin’, nothing will! On Friday, Sept. 18, a YouTube mash-up of some of Hollywood’s most memorable movie moments, set to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” took the Internet by storm.
In the nearly five-minute clip, What’s the Mashup stitched together scenes from 100 movies ranging from 1964’s Mary Poppins to 1983 hit Risky Business to 2006 indie flick Little Miss Sunshine.
The video is a veritable jaunt down memory lane, incorporating some of Hollywood’s most famous dance scenes (Jennifer Garner leading a crowd in the "Thriller" dance in 13 Going on 30, or Patrick Swayze getting touchy-feely with Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing), as well as some less obvious moments from Hitch, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Borat.
The number of famous faces that have shaken their booties on-screen is a nostalgic reminder as well: Tom Cruise, Jason Biggs, Eddie Murphy, Robin Wiliams, Jackie Chan, Charlie Chaplin, Nicholas Cage, and Will Ferrell, among others.
Animated films are featured in the mash-up, too — The Lion King, Aladdin, Despicable Me, and the birds in 500 Days of Summer make an appearance.
