Louis Tomlinson is receiving support from fellow celebs and fans following the death of his mom, Johannah Deakin.
As previously reported, Tomlinson’s mom died on Wednesday, December 7, following a battle with leukemia. She was 42.
The British singer’s former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik sent his condolences via Twitter on Friday. “@Louis_Tomlinson love you bro!” he wrote. “All of your family is in my prayers. proud of your strength and know your mum is too x.”

Simon Cowell also reached out to Tomlinson on social media. Cowell discovered the star in 2010 during season 7 of The X Factor and formed the boy band. “Heartbroken for you @Louis_Tomlinson,” he wrote. “Your mum Jay was an incredible person. Sending you all my love.”
Deakin’s husband, Dan Deakin, released a statement about her passing to Us Weekly. “Earlier this year, Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia that required immediate and continuous treatment. We respectfully request that the family are given time and space to grieve in private,” he said.

“Incredibly selfless, she would always look to put other people before herself,” he continued in the statement. “She desired nothing more than for everyone around her to be happy and loving. She worked tirelessly on numerous charity campaigns, creating memories for many individuals and their families.”
Tomlinson never publicly disclosed that his mother had been ailing. Last month, he posted a photo with her via Instagram. “My mother looking gorgeous before the Brits earlier this year,” he captioned the pic on November 18. “I love you and miss you so much!”
Johannah is survived by Dan, seven children — Louis, 24, Lottie, 18, Felicite, 16, twins Daisy and Phoebe, 12, and twins Ernest and Doris, 2, and one grandchild, Louis’ 10-month-old son, Freddie.
