Khlo-CD strikes again! We all know that Khloé Kardashian is vigilant about keeping clean (and even cops to washing her sheets every two days), and that trickles down to her glam, too. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 32, opened up about how frequently she throws her makeup out on khloewithak.com.
“I found out a while ago that I’m a major clean freak when I researched how often you’re supposed to clean certain items around your home,” she wrote. “I searched the internet for info on makeup hygiene, thinking I’d discover that I was overcautious, but I was so wrong!!! I had no idea how quickly certain makeup expires, but I knew I had to share the info with you dolls, too.”
While certain brands recommend throwing out powder makeup after three years, Kardashian inadvertently holds on to her palettes for as long as possible. “OMG, I definitely have eyeshadows that are older than that,” she revealed. “I swear I still have some from 10 years ago, LOL!”
Lipsticks have staying power, too. Kardashian, who has a special edition line of matte liquid lippies in partnership with Kylie Cosmetics, admits that she’s held on to the goods for more than the recommended two years. “I definitely have some older lipsticks … and I think my mom still has lipsticks from the ’80s,” she said.
But she follows the guidelines when it comes to liquid foundation and concealer and mascara (you’re supposed to toss after 12 to 18 months and three months, respectively). “I probably use it up way before then with the amount of glam I do,” she said.
And her makeup brushes are always in pristine condition, too. “I’m crazy about my skin, so I wash my makeup brushes once a week,” she noted.
