Police were called to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s downtown Los Angeles home on Monday, June 13. According to reports, Heard’s attorney called law enforcement after people from Depp’s camp showed up to claim some of his belongings.
Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department tells Us Weekly that the move wasn’t in violation of Heard’s restraining order against the Oscar-winning actor, and that officers responded for a civil standby.
“A representative for Johnny responded to retrieve some of his personal belongings. Johnny is not in any kind of violation,” Im tells Us, adding that neither Depp or Heard were home at the time.
The police arrived at the scene solely to conduct a civil standby to “ensure that only the items listed in the court order were being removed,” Im adds.
Last week Depp, 53, jetted off to his private island in the Bahamas, the same location where he and Heard tied the knot in 2015.
As previously reported, Heard, 30, filed for divorce from Depp after 15 months of marriage on May 23. The Danish Girl actress was granted a restraining order against the Pirates of the Caribbean actor on May 27 after she claimed that Depp physically abused her throughout their relationship. (Depp’s attorney Laura Wasser has since denied the allegations and argued that Heard is simply trying to gain financial security.)
The pair are due in court June 17 for a hearing about the restraining order.
