Rising to the occasion! Amber Rose has landed her own weekly talk show on VH1, the network announced on Tuesday, May 3.
The series is set to debut this summer and will feature the model, 32, interviewing her celebrity pals and chatting with guests about such topics as entertainment, motherhood and relationships. Dr. Phil McGraw and son Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions is behind the project, and a premiere date has not yet been announced.
“I am very excited to be joining forces with such an amazing network to deliver a fresh perspective on the primetime talk show,” the How to Be a Bad Bitch author said in a statement. “Join us as we break all the rules and redefine late-night. Watch out, [Tonight Show host Jimmy] Fallon — here comes MUVA!”
Added VH1 exec Chris McCarthy, “A true multi-hyphenate, [Rose] is a devoted mother, a strong advocate for women’s rights and a celebrated author, all of which make her an ideal host. Amber is a perfect addition to the VH1 family because our audience is interested in hearing unique perspectives from those who are unapologetically themselves and not afraid to take a stand on issues they are passionate about.”
Rose, who has son Sebastian, 3, with ex-husband Wiz Khalifa, has made numerous TV appearances on episodic and unscripted series alike, including such shows as Black-ish, Inside Amy Schumer, Selfie, Fashion Police and The Doctors.
The entrepreneur, who previously dated Kanye West and recently feuded with him on Twitter, is the latest celebrity to dip her toe into the crowded talk-show waters. West’s sister-in-law, Khloé Kardashian, hosted the FYI series Kocktails With Khloé from its January premiere until its series finale last month.
