Reunited and it feels so good! On Thursday, March 31, former costars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis teamed up to re-create the car trip from their 1991 film, Thelma & Louise, at the Good Morning America studios in New York City.
In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, the duo took a seat in the iconic 1966 Ford Thunderbird used in the movie’s fictional journey from Oklahoma to Mexico. Behind the wheel, Sarandon, 69, looked oh-so-chic in a silver bomber jacket and oversize aviator shades, while Davis, 60, sported a ladylike pink, formfitting frock.
This isn’t the first time Davis (Thelma) and Sarandon (Louise) have appeased nostalgia-lovers by hanging out together. In June 2014, the two posed for a sweet snapshot, and Sarandon boasted that she and Davis originated the selfie before the advent of social media. “Inventors of the #selfie at it again #ThelmaAndLouise,” the Zoolander 2 star captioned the post.

Days before catching up with her old friend, Sarandon made headlines for showing support for Donald Trump over the Republican presidential candidate’s Democratic counterpart, Hillary Clinton.
As a staunch supporter of Democratic nominee Bernie Sanders, Sarandon implied that it would be better for people to vote for GOP front-runner Trump, 69, if it came down to the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host and Sanders’ left-aligned rival, Clinton, 68.
“I think a lot of people are like, ‘Sorry, I just can’t bring myself to vote for [Clinton],’” she said during a March 28 appearance on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes. “Some people feel Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately.”
Not long after, a politically charged Twitter war broke out between Sarandon and fellow actress Debra Messing.
Messing responded to Sarandon’s comments by tweeting: “the idea that Susan Sarandon wud [sic] say that NOT supporting Hillary in a HRC/Trump race is a legitimate choice for Democrats, is insane.”
The Will & Grace alum, 47, continued to throw shade at Sarandon and even retweeted the following message: “@DebraMessing = national treasure. @SusanSarandon = national embarrassment.”
Sarandon immediately fired back by responding: “.@DebraMessing now RT-ing personal attacks. Cool. Right, the diff is I’m not RT attacks on u to 350K+ followers.”
Messing deleted her retweet but ended their interaction by cheekily tweeting Sarandon from Clinton’s LGBT event at Capitale in Manhattan on Wednesday night.
