Born on August 15, 1972 and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ben Affleck grew up alongside pal Matt Damon. The actors hit the fame jackpot after cowriting and costarring in the Academy Award-winning Good Will Hunting in 1997.
Affleck dated Gwyneth Paltrow briefly in 1998. Four years later, in 2002, he began dating Jennifer Lopez; he proposed later that year. Citing intense media scrutiny, the couple — known by the public as “Bennifer” — called off their wedding in 2004.
He went on to marry his Daredevil costar Jennifer Garner in June 2005 in a top-secret ceremony in Turks and Caicos. The couple has two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, and a son, Samuel. They announced their separation in June 2015 after 10 years of marriage.
Affleck has continued to land leading roles in blockbuster movies, including Argo (which he directed), Gone Girl and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
