Brooke Shields

Brooke Shields is an actress and model known for being one of Hollywood’s leading ladies. Shields is the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields, by whom she was raised in New York City. She began modeling as an infant and landed her first acting role in 1974. She went on to attend Princeton University, graduating in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Romance languages.

Shields became a breakout star with early roles in Pretty Baby (1978) and The Blue Lagoon (1980) before cementing her status as a pop culture fixture throughout the 1980s. She gained attention for her Calvin Klein jeans campaign and later transitioned into television and Broadway, including in productions like Grease, Chicago and Cabaret.

Throughout her career, Shields starred in projects including Suddenly Susan, Lipstick Jungle and Jane the Virgin. On the big screen, she’s appeared in films such as The Weekend (1999), The Midnight Meat Train (2008), The Other Guys (2010), Daisy Winters (2017) and Out of Order (2025).

In addition to acting and modeling, Shields became known for her bestselling memoirs and candid discussions about motherhood and postpartum depression. Her 2005 memoir, Down Came the Rain, detailed her experience with postpartum depression following the birth of her first child. In 2022, she began hosting the podcast “Now What?”

Shields was romantically linked to Michael Jackson in the ’90s. She was wed to tennis star Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999. In 2001, she tied the knot with television writer and producer Chris Henchy, and the couple share two daughters: Rowan (born in 2003) and Grier (born in 2006).
