Janice Dickinson

Janice Dickinson is an American model, television personality, author and talent agent best known for her decades-long fashion career and reality TV appearances. Dickinson was raised in Hollywood, Florida, alongside her two sisters. After high school, she went on to pursue modeling in New York in the early 1970s.

Dickinson began modeling after winning the national Miss High Fashion Model competition. After initially being rejected by agencies including Ford Models, she was discovered by photographer Jacques Silberstein and signed with Wilhelmina Cooper. She later worked in Paris before returning to New York and joining Ford Models and Elite Model Management. By the 1980s, she had become a prominent model, appearing on magazine covers including Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan and working with designers such as Gianni Versace, Valentino and Calvin Klein.

Dickinson became a television personality as a judge on America’s Next Top Model from 2003 to 2008 and later starred in The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency from 2006 to 2008. She also made appearances in films including Exposed (1983), Wassup Rockers (2005) and Bob Thunder: Internet Assassin (2015). She has published three books, including No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World’s First Supermodel (2002).

Dickinson was previously wed to Ron Levy, Simon Fields and Albert Gerston from 1995 to 1996. She shares son Nathan (born in 1987) with Fields and daughter Savannah (born in 1994) with former boyfriend Michael Birnbaum. Dickinson married psychiatrist Robert Gerner in 2016.
