No longer a redhead! Ariel Winter ditched her “strawberry” locks in favor of a much darker color on Thursday, July 7.
The Modern Family star, 18, who dyed her strands a vibrant red in March, said goodbye to her Little Mermaid color, debuting long, nearly black hair (a close match to the shade she had before) via Instagram. “Back to black 💋,” she captioned the selfie, which featured her in minimal makeup with a straight ‘do.
Winter’s red shade coincided with a sultry, head-to-toe makeover for the movie Dog Years, which she filmed over the last month in Knoxville, Tennessee. For the flick, which also stars Burt Reynolds, the Sophia the First voice actress donned a wide array of Daisy Dukes, crop tops and a few fake tattoos (though she also has permanent ink of her own).
Winter’s hair makeovers are the opposite of her Modern Family costar Sarah Hyland‘s, who went jet black around the same time Winter dyed her hair red. “🎶Hello from the darker side 🎶,” she wrote of the dye job via Instagram on March 8.
Hyland then added a “#hintofred” on June 17 — a look inspired by her Dirty Dancing costar Debra Messing. “Bringing in the rest of the summer vibes tribute to @therealdebramessing,” the Vampire Academy actress, 25, captioned a pic of her new shade.
