Kate Hudson loves to do Pilates and yoga to stay in shape, and her dedication to fitness often inspires her fans. But recently, her gym routine seemed to motivate a surprising Hollywood personality: Ed Helms.
On Saturday, April 6, the Fabletics cofounder posted a video to her Instagram account of her moving from a one-legged push-up position with the other leg out at a 90-degree angle, into a one-legged downward dog and back again. She performed five reps of the incredibly hard strengthening move as trainer Nicole Winhoffer filmed her and counted down. “Gettin stronger….! @nicolewinhoffer kicking my 🍑,” the WW ambassador captioned the post.
While the vast majority of commenters on the post encouraged the 39-year-old star’s dedication to her workouts or complimented her strength, the Hangover actor, 45, added a hilarious comment. “Wow. I can’t do that,” Helms wrote. “I just tried and I wound up pulling 9 muscles, tearing 2 ligaments and farting a little.”
The Office alum’s comment garnered hundreds of likes and scores of responses, including one from Hudson herself that showed off her own sense of humor: “@edhelms 😂.”
Since welcoming her third child, daughter Rani Rose (with Danny Fujikawa) in October 2018, Hudson has been stepping up her fitness and diet efforts. Frequently posting photos of herself at the gym or in clothes from her athleisure wear line, Hudson has catalogued her post-baby weight loss journey. In November, she told her fans she wanted to lose 25 pounds by spring. On March 17, 2019, she stepped out at The Daily Front Row’s 5th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards looking slim and radiant in a fitted red gown. The actress and producer also has sons Ryder, 15 (with ex-husband Chris Robinson), and Bingham, 7 (with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy).
Hudson, who has also trained extensively with Pilates instructor Nicole Stuart, wants to encourage women to get healthy through exercise — and counts on her fitness line, Fabletics, to do just that. “We can bring colors and fashion to an active lifestyle,” she said in March of her workout clothes. “We can make it affordable and available to everyone, which is really important to me.”
