Emilie Kiser got candid about her past struggles with an eating disorder.

The expectant influencer, 27, took to TikTok on Thursday, October 15, to open up about “a topic that [she] really doesn’t talk about very often.”

“I had an eating disorder for about seven years on and off,” Kiser, who is pregnant with her and husband Brady Kiser’s third child, shared. “I grew up dancing, so I really do feel like a lot of eating behaviors, body dysmorphia, self-consciousness with my body really did come from dance, even though so many good things came from it.”

While reflecting on how “far” she’s come, Emilie shared that Brady, 29, was really the one who helped heal her.

“I really healed from it after Brady and I got married because he was able to help me a lot through it and that was kinda when a lot of people noticed in my personal life that I was struggling a lot,” the content creator shared. (Emilie and Brady share sons Teddy, 16 months, and Trigg, who died at age 3 from a drowning accident.)

She continued, “When you’ve suffered from an ED and it took up such a large chunk of your life, you constantly have moments where you’re like, ‘Oh wow. I’ve made a lot of progress.’”

Now, when she’s enjoying a meal, Emilie shared that she “can’t believe it used to be a trigger” for her. “I can’t believe this used to be a food that I wouldn’t let myself have, or that I was so worried about all the time,” she said, noting she never thought there would be a day where she wasn’t tracking calories or thinking about what her body looked like.

“I was thinking about it today [because] I am not fixated on my body at all anymore, and I think that comes with age but also it comes with healing,” she added. “I would not have let myself have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Absolutely not. I was just thinking about it today, like, I’m so proud of myself because I don’t even think about that anymore. I eat what I want.”

She noted that while she’s not a “dietitian” or “expert” on eating disorders, there is “hope” for anyone else who may be struggling. “I’m 27 years old, I’m pregnant with my third baby. I have come so far with food and the way that I think about food, and I don’t even think about it anymore,” Emilie said.

“If you are someone that is struggling, I am here for you and I really hope that you have people in your life that you can trust and can help you in that journey,” she highlighted“TW: talk about food and past ED. Ily guys and I just share because it was on my mind🤍🤍🤍.”
