Rutgers student Tyler Clementi's suicide continues to spark conversation among the stars.

After Ellen DeGeneres recently spoke out against bullying and shared her own experiences with it, E! News host Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill Rancic revealed that they both were harassed as children.

"Everyone called me Gooliana and Googly Eyes," Giuliana, 36, told at the Brides White Hot Style Shop on Friday. "I didn't speak the language, I was Italian, I looked different than the other kids."

Bill, 39, said he was tormented by other kids as a child but used the negative experience to motivate himself. "I used it as a positive to prove kids wrong," he told Us.

Giuliana also said she used the teases and taunts to better her confidence. "If you survive being bullied, you will come out with more character than anyone you know," she added.

"We'd want to protect them, but not so much that they don't get through it themselves because you end up as such a better individual than someone who has been put on a pedestal their whole life," Giuliana told Us.
